The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Battling Evil – Avoid Being Discouraged!
You’ve all heard the news. The thing is, now what to do? Let’s start with what NOT to do:
Do NOT allow yourself to become discouraged! While everyone is terribly, terribly disappointed and deeply concerned regarding the current state of our country and the seeming success of ruthless tactics in the political world, DO NOT GIVE UP OR GIVE IN!
Galatians 6:9 “And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.”
I’ll not get into the theological basis for this verse, but I will tell you that I believe God intends for us to engage in pursuit of good. And He understands how difficult it is to do so when discouragement overtakes us. There IS a good vs evil war going on. It’s time to choose your side and ENGAGE!
Don’t fixate on the incessant barrage of pundits! Our television has been OFF for the last couple of days. We know what’s going on without investing hours in front of the ‘news’ shows. Just like the wrecks along the side of the road, bypassers tend to fixate on ‘what happened?’ and can’t take eyes off the tragic image. But when you do so, you’re not helping anyone and you’re not helping yourself. Resist the temptation to continue seeking answers via the media!
Don’t become a victim of any fake fundraising efforts! Reports indicate that the Trump campaign has collected $53 million within 24 hours of the devastating news from New York. If you’re like me, you’ve been bombarded with text messages and emails. BE CAREFUL in responding to these requests. Text messages from ‘88022’ are from the official Trump Campaign. Others from individual phone numbers may or may not be from the official campaign. Some are from coordinating Republican efforts like the House Republican Congressional Caucus. IF YOU’RE NOT SURE, DO NOT CLICK ON LINKS and certainly DO NOT PROVIDE ACCOUNT INFORMATION. For safe places to contribute, see below!
What Can You Do?
Note the action items in the message below from the Tennessee GOP Chairman, Scott Golden:
This is a sad day for America. Between the actions of a partisan District Attorney, flawed and unproven charges, a trial overseen and influenced by a non-elected judge, a jury pool from one of the most Democrat districts in the Country, and a convicted liar as the star witness, the last month has only served to remind Americans why strong leadership is needed in the White House.
Despite today’s events, the American people will issue the final verdict on all of these actions when we elect President Trump on November 5th. The Democrat Party must be held accountable for their continued use of lawfare.
It’s time for every conservative Republican to wake up, participate, donate, and get involved because today has reminded us of the stakes of the 2024 election.
We must stand strong… our fight is just beginning… join us in 2024 campaign!
Scott Golden, TN GOP Chair
Wake Up, Participate, Donate and Get Involved!
Wake UP – by staying informed! Rely on trusted sources (NOT the media) to know the details on issues, campaign schedules and volunteer opportunities. Do not underestimate the ruthlessness of the liberal agenda!
Participate – Show up for your local GOP meetings and HELP! There’s always room for more helpers at every level. This summer, it’s important to make sure everyone is registered, has their correct address on file with the election commission, and knows when and where to vote. Looking toward November, consider organizing a team of 10 to travel to battleground states. The timeline for making those trips will be in September and October. Block out some time and reach out to friends that are ready, willing and able to GO! Not up for doorknocking? Every candidate can use help with phone banks, putting out signs, working at the polls. Be prepared to help when the calls come out.
Donate – As you meet candidates on the campaign trail, ask them about support for other candidates! Many certainly appreciate your support for their campaigns and they frequently help others as well. For example, Speaker Cameron Sexton and US Congressman John Rose both support other candidates in challenging races around the state and country. Do your homework and send your hard earned dollars to those that you trust and and wholeheartedly support!
Get Involved! Begin with local – talk to friends and neighbors about their plans to participate in the upcoming elections. Educate yourself on the issues of most concern and develop persuasive messages. Write letters to the editor on issues of most importance to you. When you have determined a candidate that you want to support – volunteer to help in their campaign. It’s important to win at local, state and national levels! Don’t sit on the sidelines!
What Should Be on the 2024 GOP Platform?
Have you ever read the current Republican Party Platform? It’s a fairly lengthy document but you should consider reading it! Don’t be confused when you see the 2016 date. In 2020, with the limited convention setup, the GOP voted to maintain the 2016 Platform. The platform is very important, as every Republican candidate and local party is unified by support for the positions in the document. Check it out for yourself! At the 2024 Republican National Convention in July, a new platform will be adopted. The two delegation members serving on the platform committee are
Both representatives welcome your thoughts on what should, or should NOT be included in the 2024 Platform. Reach out to them to submit your thoughts and suggestions. Don’t forget to thank them for serving on the committee!
