Winning Strategies
If you’ve been on an athletic team or engaged in a competition, you have to steel yourself against the opponents’ efforts to psyche you out. But what about negativity from those on your own team?
Maybe you’re hearing discussions around you that cast doubts on whether we’ve got the right candidate, or express concerns regarding perceived campaign mistakes, or worries about fraud or…. Maybe you’re hearing, “I just can’t stand that guy, but I can’t vote for a democrat so I’m just not going to vote.”
Really?
The staying home strategy, hiding your head in the sand, is not a winning strategy. These statements are your cue to engage. You can help those that are ‘clutching their pearls’ or maybe just being cynical. Why bother? Because this isn’t a game.
Your future, my future, our children and grandchildren’s future will be impacted by the November elections.
Don’t participate with the negativity game. Winners are aware of weaknesses but do not focus on them. Winners focus on strengths. Persuasive people work with questions. Maybe start with President Reagan’s famous example “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”
Here’s some others:
- Do you agree with the party that encourages transgender ideology infecting our children’s schools?
- Should the current administration have allowed violent criminals into our country daily to victimize innocent Americans?
- Is it right to have Jewish students being attacked on our college campuses?
- Do you trust the administration that abandoned American troops, citizens, allies and billions’ worth of military equipment to be at the mercy of the Taliban in Afghanistan to responsibly direct America’s sons and daughters in global military maneuvers in the future?
Ask them to think about these questions and if their answers are ‘no’, then they need to go vote. Voting takes such a short amount of time and many have made great sacrifices for our privilege to have a country that is governed ‘by the people’. The very least we all can do is participate in that freedom.
What can YOU do?
GO!
Teams are forming to go to battleground states. If you have an available week in October and energy to block walk for approx. 4 miles a day, this is the job for you!
MAKE CALLS!
You can begin today to make calls to voters in other states to help Get Out the Vote efforts. You select the state and the amount of time to make the calls. If you have strong internet reception and are willing to make this type of contact, this is the the job for you!
DONATE!
If you do not have a flexible schedule but want to support Tennessee teams deploying to these battleground states, this is the job for you!
Did you know that 1 in 3 Christians do not vote reliably? That could be as many as 25 million American voters sitting out the election.
YOU can make a difference.
Go to the link below and sign up to be a part of a letter writing campaign. Pledge the number of letters you wish to send. When you receive confirmation of your commitment, you will also receive a list of names and the letter to send. You make copies of the letter, personalize the letter and an envelope, stamp it and send at the designated time in your instructions.
Your part is to make the copies, obtain envelopes and stamps. You CAN do this and recruit others to help!
