March GOP Meetings – Primary’s Coming!

Join the Red Wave for 2022!

For Republican candidates in local and judicial offices, the primary is just a little over a month away! The qualification deadline is passed and for the most part, the primary ballot is settled. The county parties have been hard at work to recruit and encourage Republican candidacies! Almost 3000 candidates have pulled papers to run on the Republican ballot across Tennessee!

In this edition:

  • Republicans are already winning! In the upper Cumberland and Sequatchie Valley, some candidates have no opposition in the primary or the general election in August
  • Fundraisers! Check out the fundraisers scheduled in March
  • GOP meetings and Special Events!

Congratulations to those judicial candidates on the Republican ballot that are unopposed in both the primary and the general election! In the 12th Judicial District, incumbent chancellor Missy Thomas Willis, Part 1 Circuit Court Judge candidate Bradley Sherman, and Part 3 Circuit Court Judge Justin Angel (incumbent) will be unopposed. In the 13th Judicial District, Republican incumbents facing no challengers are chancellor Ron Thurman, Criminal Court Justices Gary McKenzie and Wesley Bray, Attorney General Bryant Dunaway and Public Defender Craig Pickling. In Warren county, we celebrate with Attorney Ryan Moore, running for General Sessions judge. He will replace a Democrat incumbent, who is not running for re-election. The local newspaper did a nice job recognizing his achievement (below):

TN GOP Chair Scott Golden (left) and Warren County GOP Chair Chance Vondette (right) congratulate Ryan Moore, Republican candidate for Warren County General Sessions Judge.

Local attorney Ryan J. Moore is the only candidate to qualify for the election, meaning he is expected to assume the office Sept. 1. Incumbent Bill Locke opted not to seek reelection and his term will expire Aug. 31.

“First and foremost, I give God the glory. From day one, I surrendered this race to the Lord and asked Him to put the right people in my path,” said Moore, who noted he will begin taking steps to wind down his private practice. “He blessed me beyond measure with an overwhelming team of energetic supporters and campaign volunteers. It’s very humbling and I’m forever grateful to everyone who has worked on the campaign.”

Moore continued, “Judge Bill Locke set a high bar for the General Sessions bench. I would like to commend him for his work, and I look forward to being a servant of justice. The General Sessions Courts have been called the legal work horse of dispute resolution in Tennessee. It’s the only court most people will ever see because of its broad jurisdiction. It’s a busy court that requires a strong work ethic and I promise to be on schedule, prepared and productive.”
