Tis the Season for Party Reorganizations

Every odd-numbered year, each County Republican Party in the state of Tennessee must reorganize itself in accordance with rules and procedures set forth TN GOP and County Party Bylaws.

What is ‘reorganization’? Basically, it’s the election of the Executive Committee, normally consisting of at least a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Some parties have additional officers, such as vice-secretary. Most counties use the meeting format called a “Mass Convention”. Some counties have “Delegated Conventions”. A delegated convention must be approved by the state GOP chairman.

Any bona fide Republican who is duly registered to vote and resides in the County shall be entitled to vote and participate in the County Mass Convention.

The dates for county reorganizations will be posted on the TN GOP website here. You also can indicate your interest in your county’s reorganization on the same page.

Welcome Spring!

The first day of spring is March 20th and March 12th is the day to change your clocks! We are blessed to live in a beautiful part of Tennessee that also allows the full experience of the four seasons. It may be spring but at times, travel warnings are still necessary in March. Join your party’s email list and check social media pages for last minute cancellations or postponed meetings due to weather!
