State of (the Union) Affairs
Unless you’ve been under a rock, you’ve heard about President Trump’s indictment which was published last Friday. Coincidentally, US Congressman Comer and the US House Oversight Committee were granted review of an informant file – previously withheld by FBI Director Christopher Wray. Also coincidentally, Director Wray decided to share the document with the Oversight Committee right after Chairman Comer promised contempt charges for withholding crucial documents for the committee’s investigation. Could it be that the indictment announcement timing was intended to distract media (and thus public) attention from the allegedly corrupt Biden family activities?
What did the Oversight Committee members find?
Biden Accused of Taking $5M Bribe
And the source of the alleged bribe? The Ukrainian Natural Gas Company – Burisma. Of course, you should recall that Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, served on the board of directors for Burisma. Because every international natural gas company wished to have a recovering addict with no background whatsoever in the industry to help guide the company.
Regarding the Trump Indictment:
You’ve got plenty of opinion pieces to peruse regarding the indictment, but here’s a couple of items.
- GOP Presidential Candidate statements regarding President Trump’s most recent indictment
- Former US Attorney for the District of Columbia reacted in this interview. Joe diGenova’s thoughts should be considered carefully. Why? In his previous role as the United States attorney for the District of Columbia (USADC), he was responsible for representing the federal government in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
Are you motivated or discouraged? What can we do?

2024 is building up to be a ‘fight or flight’ moment in US history. Many people have no interest in talking politics. In contrast to the message ‘it matters who governs’, many people simply shrug their shoulders. If you’re taking the time to read this newsletter, you believe that it matters – significantly – who governs and you’re seeking ways to DO something.
Take a look at the graphic below and think about what kind of leadership you want in 2025-2028. Then think about how you can best help the candidate of your choosing. More importantly, which party represents your values? YOU can get involved by attending and donating to the organizations in the events list!
