In this issue:

- Inauguration Day 2025
- Republicans going to work – US Congress and Tennessee General Assembly
- Republican Party Meetings and Reorganizations

The 2024 Election Victories bring great hope for conservative governance at the federal and state levels in 2025. Now that we’ve elected our strong candidates to serve, it’s time to be attentive to their challenges and support their efforts in this upcoming busy year. This non-election year affords opportunity for rebuilding local parties and organizing for Republican wins in local, state and federal offices in 2026. The 2026 spring ballot will offer candidates for all local offices except property assessor and some school board positions. It’s a great year to be a Republican and it’s a great time to become engaged at the local level with your fellow Republicans. Join us!
2025 Inauguration Schedule
Monday, January 20th at noon (EST) – Swearing In Ceremony at the U.S. Capitol
Pass In Review (Inauguration Parade) – After the conclusion of the inaugural ceremonies and the luncheon at the United States Capitol, the newly-sworn president and vice president will make their way to the East Front steps of the Capitol where they will review military troops before leading a procession of ceremonial military regiments, citizens’ groups, marching bands, and floats down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House. The President, Vice President, their spouses, and special guests will then watch the parade as it passes in front of the Presidential Reviewing Stand.

Republicans Going to Work!
US Congress
All Representatives and newly elected Senators were sworn in on January 3rd. Senator John Thune (ND) will lead the new Republican majority U.S. Senate while Representative Mike Johnson (LA) will lead the U.S. House. Both houses will meet in joint session on Monday, January 6th at noon for the official count of electoral votes.
Tennessee General Assembly
The One Hundred Fourteenth General Assembly will convene at noon (CST) on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Local Republican Party Officer Elections
In 2025, all local Republican parties are required to conduct officer elections. Called ‘reorganizations’, these meetings must be announced well in advance to allow full participation. Reorganizations must be conducted before April 15th. The Republican Party updated bylaws with new provisions in December of 2024. While the reorganization meetings are open to all interested individuals, those wishing to vote for the officers must be bona fide Republicans, having voted in three of four most recent statewide Republican primaries. If you have moved to your county, whether from another county in Tennessee or another state, you must provide your voting record to officials in order to participate. Those that are too young to have voted in the required number of primaries may be granted a waiver.
If you want to be involved in your county, you can pre-register using the link below. Pre-registration allows verification of your voting record in advance and should make checking in more efficient at the upcoming meeting in your county. You can pre-register before your county reorganization is scheduled. Scheduled reorganizations may be found here
